Christie Chiles Twillie is a Pianist, Music Director, Sound Designer and Composer. Her music directing credits include over 40 musicals. Straight play compositional credits include: A Raisin in the Sun (Invictus); America 2.0 (Definition); The Niceties (Forward), The Mountain Top (American Players) and Sound Design/Composition We Are Continuous & VietGone (GEVA), The Way She Spoke (Milwaukee Chamber), Homeland 24 (MFTC) and the Milwuakee Black Theatre Festival productions of Black Butterflies, Pretty Fire, Kill Move Paradise, Stew and Home. Christie’s film scores can be heard in The Pandemic Trilogy, The Clearing and Alone. In 2019, Christie was awarded the Footlights Best Musical Direction Award - Professional Production (Five Guys Named Moe), and a Rachel Rockwell Fierce Women Behind The Table award for Music Direction by Porchlight Music Theatre. In 2018, she earned a BTAA nomination for Best Music Direction - Original Score (Yellowman). Christie was a Chicago Broadway World Finalist for Best Music Direction, (Big Fish). Regional musical credits include Five Guys Named Moe, Newsies, and The Gospel at Colonus (Skylight) and the Chicago premier of Minnie’s Boys (Porchlight). Christie is member of the American Federation of Musicians; MUSE - Musicians United for Social Equity, and a Board Member for the NYC based organization, MAESTRA.
