About
maiya a. corral is a storyteller & theatermaker from the west coast. She has a lot of homes, but is currently nesting on land stewarded by Council of Three Fire (Chicago, IL) Art is her service; she is an actor, director, writer & educator. She has made work with the neighborhood theater, One Year Chekov, Refracted Theater Co, University of Idaho, Diablo Valley College and Florida International University. Her work as a writer and director has been recognized and developed at The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in Washington DC. Mixed race, Mexican & queer, Maiya tells stories that honor complexity. She explores humanness through the deep waters of Devine sorrow, ancestral connection and magic. If she isn’t writing, she’s probably cooking soup, feeding the birds, teaching toddlers or studying the stars.
