Omer Abbas Salem is a Chicago actor and writer. As an actor, his Chicago credits include Linda, Earthquakes in London, Light Falls (Steep Theatre), My Dear Hussein, INVASION! (Silk Road Rising), Even Longer and Further Away (The New Colony), Pinocchio (The House), Princess Mary (Bailiwick Chicago), and Washer/Dryer (Rasaka Theatre). Regional: A Christmas Carol and You Across From Me (Actors Theatre of Louisville). Off Broadway: Eddie and Dave (The Atlantic Theater).
His writing has been produced by Actors Theatre of Louisville, Jackalope Theater, The New Colony, and National Queer Theater. His play Mosque4Mosque has undergone development through The Habibis and National Queer Theater. Mosque4Mosque is currently being developed at Steppenwolf Theater through their 20/21 SCOUT Program. His play Being Julia Roberts is currently being developed through Jackalope Theater's 20/21 New Frontier Series. He is a proud Core Ensemble Member of The New Colony, ensemble member of Steep Theatre, a founding member of MENASA MidWest, and was an Actors Theatre of Louisville apprentice 17/18.
