Timothy Ortmann

Timothy Ortmann was the founding board president of Definition Theatre and continues currently to serve as a board member. He recently retired as the Director of Fine & Applied Arts at Niles North High School where he directed/produced over two hundred productions. He has been both the school’s Teacher of the Year and a National Teacher of the Year. During his time there, Niles Township High School’s arts programming was named best in the nation by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He is a trained Fight Director and is a member of the American Alliance of Theatre & Education, EdTA, and USITT. Tim has served as President of the Illinois Theatre Association and is the recipient of their highest Award of Honor. He has been named All-State Director for the Illinois High School Theatre Festival; Tim can be seen on screen in the web series Dark Age.
